Sarah Thomson is a Melbourne based artist currently studying a
BFA at the Victorian College of the Arts. Throughout her time at the Victorian
College of the Arts, her work has developed into exploring the construction of sculptures (some even becoming wearable) using purely accidental and unintended materials. She
does this using a mix of found objects such as pamphlets, movie posters,
cardboard etc.
She plays on the idea of found materials becoming more than what the first started as, turning them into something beyond what it would have ever been seen as before and in a way giving them a new life and purpose.
