Cameron Hibbs is both a musician and artist who explores the
crossover and links between these. Hibbs’ methodical process involves highly
intricate lines and patterns drawn in biro pen and pencil where an overall
balance is achieved. The resulting shape, distribution of lines, and sometimes
colour are often determined by mathematics and the use of graphs to visualise
the different elements in the music. Beginning with a structure that provides a
platform, the work evolves over the course of its completion. As the drawing
unfolds, subtle imperfections begin to appear, creating a juxtaposition of the
geometric against the fluid and organic, resulting in an engaging and rhythmic
arrangement.
